Tarangire National Park

A park of elephant herds, baobab trees and a river that draws wildlife from far around in the dry season. Kijani Camp sits inside the park, looking west over Lake Burunge.

Dry season

As water becomes scarce, animals move in from the surrounding areas and gather along the Tarangire River. This is the time for large herds of elephant, zebra, wildebeest and buffalo.

December to May

Green season

The rains turn the bush green and the birdlife is at its best. Fewer vehicles, soft light and a lush landscape around the camp.
