Kijani Camp

“A small camp, done well.”

Intimate wilderness living

With only four guest tents, Kijani keeps things small on purpose. Guests are looked after personally, evenings are quiet, and the bush is never far away.

Opened in June 2026 and run by the same team that plans safaris across northern Tanzania. Spacious canvas tents with en-suite bathrooms, full-board dining in the mess tent and a campfire lounge looking out over Lake Burunge. The camp is unfenced, and elephants pass by the camp.

The tents

Four tents, each with its own view

Double, twin, single and triple rooms. Every tent has an en-suite bathroom with a hot-water bucket shower and WC, a seating area, a writing desk and a veranda facing the bush. Two of them stand in the shade of a baobab.

The land

Elephants, baobabs and the Tarangire River

Tarangire is known for its high density of elephants and its ancient baobab trees. In the dry season, wildlife from the wider ecosystem gathers along the river, the park's lifeline.

Kijani sits within the park, about 14 km from Sangaiwe Gate, which makes early and late game drives easy to plan.
